The Diocese of the Southeast

A Diocese of the Reformed Episcopal Church and ACNA

Committee on Women's Work (COWW)

Welcome to Committee on Women’s Work of the Diocese of the Southeast of the Reformed Episcopal Church! It is our desire to serve the women of our churches through various Bible Studies, book studies,  and discipleship and fellowship opportunities. The vision of this ministry is steered through these core values:

  • Christ-Centered.  We endeavor to highlight the characteristics and traits of God in an attempt to help women to see the distinct beauty of who God is and help them make Christ the center of their life.
  • Bible Teaching and Learning. We believe that the word of God is what sustains us. Thus, Bible study is a major component of this ministry in which we will endeavor to provide opportunities for women to become adept in the word of God.
  • Scriptural Womanhood. It is important for women to understand God’s unique and beautiful design for their lives. We are passionate about teaching women the need to delight in his greatness by embracing the biblical portrait of femininity through the word of God.
  • Sharing the Gospel. We endeavor to provide services to any and all populations who might not have access to services. We are called to proclaim the gift of salvation.

Our purpose / mission is:

  • To correlate the work of the various women’s organizations in the diocese. That is, to serve as a guide in setting special dates and fund-raising drives so that the various organizations will not overlap each other’s work and a harmonious program of activities can be worked up for the convocations and for local churches.
  • To develop organized efforts among the women of the churches. That is, to try to organize the women who are members in the churches so that every woman will feel that she has a part in the work of the Lord and will do her part according to her special interests.
  • To sponsor a larger interest among our women in the womens activities of the entire denomination and to bring a closer relationship between the women in the various parts of the church through collaboration with the Committee on Women’s Work Ministry of the Reformed Episcopal Church.
